Chapter 78

A month later, it was october, and the season started a couple of weeks ago. On sunday Sidney had an off day.

"do you want to start the guest list?" i asked

"guest list?"

"yeah, the wedding is in like nine, ten months."

"yeah" we sat at the kitchen table and sat there for almost two on and off. We had about 100, 130 people.

"so, for a wedding we need what?" he asked "food, cake, flowers."

"it more then stuff, that like." i said "there food, colors, flowers, family getting
them to cole houbour, suits, dresses, poeple who are going to be in the wedding."

"when you going to get your dress?" he asked

"i don't know, i'll worry about that later."

"okay, people in the wedding"

"well we got to ask them first."

"okay, i know, lets see." he said "Max, Marc, Mike, your brother." He said writing
down their names.

"mmm," I said "V, my sister, your sister and i don't know, oh wait my friend Erin."

"okay, maid of honor."

"mmm...my sister, then Vero and Erin bridemaids, and Tay junior bridemaid." I
said "best man?" I asked

"Max" he said "then Marc, Adam and Mike. I'll talk to Max, and Marc tomorrow, i'll
call your brother and Mike now.

he did that, I called my sister, Vero, Erin, and his sister.

"Tay"

"hi" she said

"you want to be a bridemaid."

"really?"

"yeah"

"i love to"

"who is that?" I heard her mom ask.

"Brittany, she asked me to be in the wedding."

"thats nice can I talkt o her."

"mom, wants to talk to you."

"you guys getting stuff done?" she asked

"yeah, somne stuff

"he's helping"

"yes, he's helping."

"but did you two pick a date and where?" she asked

"we never told you."

"I'm sorry Trina things have been kinda crazy the last month his practices, and game
we forgot to tell you"

"tell me what?"

"we picked a the date and where."

"whats is it?"

"July, 17, at thr lake house."

"here" she said "are you sure about that?"

"yeah, it was my idea." i said "i love it up there."

The end of October. i got up for work Sidney was still sleeping. i got dress, turned
on the TV to the news. i went to the bathroom started brushing my teeth. i came out
of the bathroom still brushing my teeth.

"All girls in Pittsburgh heart might have drop........Sidney Crosby engaged" the
news sation said, I looked up at the TV there was pictures and videos of Sid,
with 'engaged?' at teh bottom, my eyes got fixed all the TV. my mouth dropped
withwith my tooth brush sticking out of my mouth with me holding it.

"they is rumors that the captain has got engaged over the summer to women named
Brittany Taylor, a local girl who grew up north of pittsburgh and works at a cafe in
Pittsburgh.." they said "we will have more of this story on the evening news." I
coughed, I covered my mouth and ran to the bathroom. i was coughing then coaking. i
spit up, then lean back up the catch my breath.

"you okay?" I heard him mummble in the bedroom.

"yeah, go back to bed." I said I couldn't believe they found out. I got finish
getting ready then went to work.

Around one we were slowing down from the lunch rush. i was cleaning off the counter
I heard teh door open. i looked up and seen Sidney walk in.

"So Brittany Taylor grew up north of Pittsburgh, works in a local cafe and wait
engaged to Sidney Crosby" Sid laughed

"did you see that too?" I asked

"yeah, got questions about it before i seen it."

"what did you tell them?"

"I don't talk about my dating life that much, you guys will probabiliy find out the
truth soon enough." he said

I laughed

"when you see it, 12 o'clock news?"

"no more, like the 7 o'clock news" I said

"you see it on the 12 o'clock."

"yeah, I was craking up"

"I was shocked" he grabbed my hand adn started rudding my finger that has my ring on
it. i smiled "i'll be right back" I walked over to a table.

"hi, can I get you anything else."

"no, thanks"

"Okay, here you go" I give them their check, they paid and lefted. I walked over to
Sidney.

"you here to see me or lunch?"

"both"

"what do you want?"

"your lips"

"for lunch" i said

"Chicken salad, and ice tea."

"dressing?"

"ranch"

I put his order in, then Beth walked in.

"hey beth, same lunch? I asked

"yes, please" I put her order in, and went over to give her, her drink.

"how are you?" I asked

"good, how are you and your fiance?"

"i'm good, and he is over there." I ponited to Sidney who was taking a drink of his
ice tea.

"thats him?"

I nodded

"then let me meet him." she said getting up

"Sid" i said

he turned around "huh"

"this Beth, beth this is Sidney" I said "she a regular custom, she wanted met you."

"you too, aren't you that hockey player?"

"yes, ma'am" he said

"good job" she said looking at me.

I laughed "thanks"

She went back to her table. I gave Sidney his food , Then hers,, then I waited on
another table.

"good food?" I asked him

he nodded chewing, putting his fork out me. i took a bit.

"very good" he said

"yupp" I said

He was done "i'm gonna get going" he said

"okay, where you going"

"I think Max's for awhile."

"Tell him I said hi."

"Can I " he said pointing at me.

"what?"

"kiss you"

"oh, yeah, you never have to ask." I leaned over the counter he kissed me. i smiled

"love you"

"love you too."

I went home after work, sidney was laying on the couch, watching TV.

"hey Britt" he said, bending his head back looking at me.

"hey" I lended down giving him a kiss.

"mmm"

"i'm going get a shower, then we could something for dinner."

"okay" I got a shower, and then I was done, I was coming out of the bathroom, Sidney
was walking to the kitchen.

"baby" he said looking at me, then grabbed my butt.

"Sidney" I laughed , and run in the bedroom, he laughed, I got dress, then went out
the living room. sidney was laying on the couch

"schooch over" I said, he did, i laid down with him. he put his hand around me. I
interwinded our feet, and hands, he rubbed his foot up and down my ankle. He kissed
my neck, it gave me chills. We laid there for about, s hour and a half.

"what do you want for dinner?" he asked

"I don't know"

"chinese?" he asked

"that sounds good, i'll order."

"i'll pick it up" he said I got up and called and sid went to go get it. After we
were done eating we were sitting on the couch.

"why did you stop with the wedding plans?" he asked me.

"well, the season and with the hoildays coming up. I thought I slow it down."

"the season isn't going to end anytime soon."

"I know, i'm start back up after the hoilday." he looked at me. "we'll start after
the hoilday." i said

"i'm alway here" he said

"we got some stuff done, we got guest list inventions, people that are going to be
in the wedding, and the colors."

"Purple, right"

"yupp"

"did you send the interventions?"

"no, not yet, I probability won't send them until the begnning of the year."

"so we still have more to do?"

"yes"
