Chapter 78
A month later, it was october, and the season started a couple of weeks ago. On sunday Sidney had an off day.
"do you want to start the guest list?" i asked
"guest list?"
"yeah, the wedding is in like nine, ten months."
"yeah" we sat at the kitchen table and sat there for almost two on and off. We had about 100, 130 people.
"so, for a wedding we need what?" he asked "food, cake, flowers."
"it more then stuff, that like." i said "there food, colors, flowers, family getting
them to cole houbour, suits, dresses, poeple who are going to be in the wedding."
"when you going to get your dress?" he asked
"i don't know, i'll worry about that later."
"okay, people in the wedding"
"well we got to ask them first."
"okay, i know, lets see." he said "Max, Marc, Mike, your brother." He said writing
down their names.
"mmm," I said "V, my sister, your sister and i don't know, oh wait my friend Erin."
"okay, maid of honor."
"mmm...my sister, then Vero and Erin bridemaids, and Tay junior bridemaid." I
said "best man?" I asked
"Max" he said "then Marc, Adam and Mike. I'll talk to Max, and Marc tomorrow, i'll
call your brother and Mike now.
he did that, I called my sister, Vero, Erin, and his sister.

The end of October. i got up for work Sidney was still sleeping. i got dress, turned
on the TV to the news. i went to the bathroom started brushing my teeth. i came out
of the bathroom still brushing my teeth.
"All girls in Pittsburgh heart might have drop........Sidney Crosby engaged" the
news sation said, I looked up at the TV there was pictures and videos of Sid,
with 'engaged?' at teh bottom, my eyes got fixed all the TV. my mouth dropped
withwith my tooth brush sticking out of my mouth with me holding it.
"they is rumors that the captain has got engaged over the summer to women named
Brittany Taylor, a local girl who grew up north of pittsburgh and works at a cafe in
Pittsburgh.." they said "we will have more of this story on the evening news." I
coughed, I covered my mouth and ran to the bathroom. i was coughing then coaking. i
spit up, then lean back up the catch my breath.
"you okay?" I heard him mummble in the bedroom.
"yeah, go back to bed." I said I couldn't believe they found out. I got finish
getting ready then went to work.
Around one we were slowing down from the lunch rush. i was cleaning off the counter
I heard teh door open. i looked up and seen Sidney walk in.
"So Brittany Taylor grew up north of Pittsburgh, works in a local cafe and wait
engaged to Sidney Crosby" Sid laughed
"did you see that too?" I asked
"yeah, got questions about it before i seen it."
"what did you tell them?"
"I don't talk about my dating life that much, you guys will probabiliy find out the
truth soon enough." he said
I laughed
"when you see it, 12 o'clock news?"
"no more, like the 7 o'clock news" I said
"you see it on the 12 o'clock."
"yeah, I was craking up"
"I was shocked" he grabbed my hand adn started rudding my finger that has my ring on
it. i smiled "i'll be right back" I walked over to a table.
"hi, can I get you anything else."
"no, thanks"
"Okay, here you go" I give them their check, they paid and lefted. I walked over to
Sidney.
"you here to see me or lunch?"
"both"
"what do you want?"
"your lips"
"for lunch" i said
"Chicken salad, and ice tea."
"dressing?"
"ranch"
I put his order in, then Beth walked in.
"hey beth, same lunch? I asked
"yes, please" I put her order in, and went over to give her, her drink.
"how are you?" I asked
"good, how are you and your fiance?"
"i'm good, and he is over there." I ponited to Sidney who was taking a drink of his
ice tea.
"thats him?"
I nodded
"then let me meet him." she said getting up
"Sid" i said
he turned around "huh"
"this Beth, beth this is Sidney" I said "she a regular custom, she wanted met you."
"you too, aren't you that hockey player?"
"yes, ma'am" he said
"good job" she said looking at me.
I laughed "thanks"
She went back to her table. I gave Sidney his food , Then hers,, then I waited on
another table.
"good food?" I asked him
he nodded chewing, putting his fork out me. i took a bit.
"very good" he said
"yupp" I said
He was done "i'm gonna get going" he said
"okay, where you going"
"I think Max's for awhile."
"Tell him I said hi."
"Can I " he said pointing at me.

"oh, yeah, you never have to ask." I leaned over the counter he kissed me. i smiled

I went home after work, sidney was laying on the couch, watching TV.
"hey Britt" he said, bending his head back looking at me.

"i'm going get a shower, then we could something for dinner."
"okay" I got a shower, and then I was done, I was coming out of the bathroom, Sidney
was walking to the kitchen.
"baby" he said looking at me, then grabbed my butt.
"Sidney" I laughed , and run in the bedroom, he laughed, I got dress, then went out
the living room. sidney was laying on the couch
"schooch over" I said, he did, i laid down with him. he put his hand around me. I
interwinded our feet, and hands, he rubbed his foot up and down my ankle. He kissed
my neck, it gave me chills. We laid there for about, s hour and a half.
"what do you want for dinner?" he asked
"I don't know"
"chinese?" he asked
"that sounds good, i'll order."
"i'll pick it up" he said I got up and called and sid went to go get it. After we
were done eating we were sitting on the couch.
"why did you stop with the wedding plans?" he asked me.
"well, the season and with the hoildays coming up. I thought I slow it down."
"the season isn't going to end anytime soon."
"I know, i'm start back up after the hoilday." he looked at me. "we'll start after
the hoilday." i said
"i'm alway here" he said
"we got some stuff done, we got guest list inventions, people that are going to be
in the wedding, and the colors."

"did you send the interventions?"
"no, not yet, I probability won't send them until the begnning of the year."

Chapter 77
The Next morning, Sid took me to the airport.
A week and a half or so, later I came home from work. Sidney was lying on.
"hey hot stuff, your home."
"hey sweet stuff" he got up and kissed me.
"what are you doing tomorrow?"
"nothing, why?"
"I'm off, wanna go tell my parents."
"sure"
"okay. I'm gonna go call my mom."
"okay"
Later that night, Sid was on his laptop. i was cooking dinner. his phone rang.
"hello" he picked it up. "mmmm we're going to her parents" he said "thanks man, yeah
she was........yeah not till late....sorry." he said "yupp bye." he hung up. "that
was Marc he wanted to know what we were doing tomorrow."
"oh"
The next day we were on our way to my parents. I turned my ring around so the
diamond wasn''t showing.
"what you do that for?" he asked
"so they won't see it, i want to tell them before they guess."
"okay"
We knocked on the door, Mom answered the door.
"Brittany" she said
"hi. mom" she hugged me.

"hi, Anne"
"where's Dad?"
"in the living room"

"oh my" my mom said, dad smiled. Aimee mouth dropped, and Adam smiled my mom grabbed
my hand, and looked at it, and she lifted my hand i got up with it. and she hugged
me, I saw Sidney stand up and shook my dad hand, and Adam hugged him. I hugged
Aimee, then my dad, Adam hugged me.
"my baby sister getting married before me."
"well, your having a baby, your one person ahead of me." i laughed them walked
beside Sid.
my dad was smiling at me.
"what?" I asked
"nothing" he said looking Sidney who was also smiling.

"I knew" dad said
"huh?"
"He knew" Sid said "the day he went to practice with me, i asked him what he
thought." I looked at him, and smiled.
"you've had this, that long."
"I had the idea, that long."
"you knew" mom said "why didn't you tell me?"
"I wanted her to tell you." he said
"anyways, when this happened last night."
"well, no, it happen about two weeks ago."
"and i just hearing about it now?"
"mom, I didn't want to tell you on the phone."

"I wanted to wait until Sidney was home, so we could tell you together."
"Okay.....Okay I'm happy for you."
"anyways, you two staying for dinner?" dad asked changing the subject.

After Dinner, we went straight home, around six we were walking up the steps.
"i can't believe my dad knew, I can't believe you talked to him about it."

"Sid did you leave the sink light on?" I asked cutting him off.
"no, why?" he turned around, the little light was one above the sink was on. "did
you?" he asked
"no"
"let me go first." he said, putting his arm in front of me, and unlocked the door. I
followed right behind him. he turned on the lights on.
"Surprise!" a bunch of people yelled. I jumping holding on to Sid's arm. he jumped
too.
"what the hell." he said
"Congratulations" Marc said, and Max, Vero, Staaly and more guys and their
girlfriends.
"Brittany" V said pulling me in for a hug.
"what" I said
"its a engagement party." she said
i didn't know what to say but "thank you"
"its no problem" she said "I can't believe you and Sidney are getting married." she
said "let me see"
"oh" I said, and stuck out my hand she grabbed my hand.
"its beautiful."
"thanks" I smiled and looked at Sidney, he winked at me.
"no, they got us both." he put his hand on my back. I smiled
I was having one of the best times of my life.
"another round of shots" staaly girlfriend yelled. i stood at the counter, and I
stood at the counter, and I was feeling a buzz. I picked up the glass. I looked
by side me and Sid about to take a shot.
"what" he smiled. I drink the shot.
"nothing handsome." he took a drink then I kissed him. he laughed. the night I got
about the most drunk i have ever. i couldn't even walk straight.
The next morning i woke up.
"oh" I said with the biggest headache.
"Sidney" I said putting my arm on the other side of the bed. he wasn't there.
I swig my legs over the side og the bed, and sat there for a few mintres with my
head down, with my eyes shut. rubbing my temples. I stood up, i didn't feel dizzy
until i started walking. i was walking out of the bedroom, i had to brace myself by
putting my hand on the door, which made it hit the wall.
"oh, that was loud." I said, i walked into the living room. Sidney was passed out on
the couch with one leg and one arm off the couch, and the other arm over his face.
I sat in the chair and grabbed the small blanket off the back of it. and just laid
there for a few mitntures. I saw Sidney starting to move.
"oh." he said
"mmmm...huh" i said
"oh my god" he sat up on the couch. "you feeling a hung over too?"
"yeah"
"do you have work today?"
"oh shit, work what time is it?"
"little after 8:30" he said putting his head back down.
"I was supposed to be there at 8:30" i said getting up, and the headache just hit me.
"oh"
"maybe you should call off." I heard him mummble
"I can't" i siad in the bedroom getting dress. i had to slow down, because the
headache was horriable.
"I got to go" I said leaning down to sidney.
"don't yell" he yelled, with me right next to me.
"you don't yell" I said "i'm right next to you."
"oh, sorry"
"can I have a kiss?" he lifted his head up, ad I kissed him.
i was at work feeling better, I din't really get in trouble.
Then, this older lady cam in, she comes in the same day every week and orders the
same thing.
"hi, beth" I said

"yeah, but instead of coffee can i have Orange juice."
"yupp." I put her order in/
"how you doing?" I asked her.
"i'm good, you look like you don't feel good."
"yeah, i didn't sleep that good, ans got up late this morning."
"having too much fun last night"
"yeah, I did our friends throw me and my boy -- fiance a party" i said it was the
first time i said it and it brought a smile to my face.
"Fiance"
"yeah" i said showing her the ring.
"Congratulations" she said "i want to meet this boy."
"well you never know when he will come in." I said and went to check on her food.
I got home that night, got a shower, cooked dinner, and sat in all night with Sidney.

The next morning the cup was gone. i got woke up by Brittany shaking me.
"Sid"
"what?" i asked rubbing my eyes.
"why didn't you tell me, this said this."
"oh, you finally found that. I want see how long it took you." I said, on the inside
of the band said 'love you beautiful'
"love you handsome" she said. i smiled. she kissed me.
We went downstairs, made breakfast, we were eating.
"when are you going to tell you parents"
"you forgot?"
"yeah"
"are you going to call them?"
"I don't want to do it over the phone. "
"why not?"
"because that not something you call up your parents and say hey mom, dad guess
what, i got engaged last" I said putting my fingers up to my ear like a phone.
Sid laughed, I smiled.
"are you going to tell them when you get back?"
"can we do it when you come back/"
"sure."
All day we spent it together, we went out to lunch, and spent the day outside. i
cooked dinner.
The next morning, i went downstairs. Sid was on the phone. i smiled at him, and sat
at the counter. he put his hand on my shoulder, rubbing it.
"yeah, i think we can make it." he said "okay, bye" then hung up.
"morning beautiful"
"morning, handsome" I said "where we going?" I asked
"Nanny wants us to come over for lunch today."

I walked in the kitchen.

Chapter 75
The next morning, Sid still had the cup. i woke up went downstairs. i was walking down the stairs. i heard Sidney.
"shit" he said
I come into the living room, He was in ther with his parents, and taylor.
"whats wrong?" i asked
"nothing" he said "we got to get ready?"
"okay" he been acting werid for a couple of days now.
we went upstairs, i was coming out of the bathroom he was going around in the top of
the dresser.
"what are you doing?"
"nothing" he said
"are you okay, you been acting werid, for a couple days."
"i'm fine"
"okay"
"are you ready?"
"yupp"
We went to this measum they had an area of Sid it had old pictures, awards,
jersey, and even his mom's dyer.
After that we went to am these different places around cole hobour like his school.
Then later we went back to his house. I came out of the house.
"where's Sid?" I asked one of the carmera men.
"he want around there."
"okay, thanks" I want around the bend.
"what are you doing?" i laughed
"I going to wash it."
"your going to wash the stanley cup."
"yeah"
"why?"
"because. i have it , I might as well wash it."

I come of the house. i saw Brittany was walking to the dock. I took a deep breath
and put my hand into pockey, and pulled out a little box opened it up. i looked at
it.
"I got to do this" I said to myself.
"hey dude" Max said putting his arm around me. "is that a--"

Chapter 74
The next morning, i was sitting on the couch waiting for sid. A little bit later , he walked in the apartment.
"hey, hotstuff"
"hey, beautiful" he said, and sat down in the chair.
"you had fun last night."
"yeah, i did" he said "did you have fun?"
"yeah, i had a great time."
"i'm going get a shower."
"okay" he stood up and started walking towards the bedroom.
"are you lumping?"
"yeah"
"do you need any help?"
"no, i'll be good."
The next fews days went by the guys had partys, and parade, and enjoying the cup
together.
Then teh couple weeks later, Sid went home to Nova Soctia.
Couple months later, and a week before his got the cup. his was getting on his
birthday. i was in Nova Soctia. We were at his house. his parents jsut got here.
"Mom, i got to go pick something up?"
"Okay, will be here when you get back."
"i'll go with you." i said
"no"
"okay" I said sitting back down.
"i mean, it not going to take that long."
"okay"
He was gone for a long time. Weh he got home, he run right upstairs, later that
night when we went to bed. I was lying in bed, he got in and happend his arm around
me.

A week later, it was the day Sid got the cup we were up at six in the morning.
"are you sure you don't want to come on the helicoper with us?" Sid asked
"i'm positive" I said "I'll meet you there, i'll go with your mom and taylor."

"oh Happy Birthday"

We met him, his Dad and Max. After the mailitary, then we went to the childern
hospital. All the kids were cheering for him, He went around to all the kids, they
were so happy to see him. He loved to see them. Then it was time for the parade. i
sat in a car with taylor, then in the next car the his grandmothers, then his
parents the max with the price of whales. Then lasts was Sidney in this bid old fire truck, with the stanley cup. At the end of the parade/ He got up on stage he tanked his fans.
"Some poeple that are here, and that have been here for Max Talbot he been and great teammate and a great friend." Max run up there with him. Sid laughed.
"I love cole houbor." Max yelled i laughed.
"and my girlfriend Brittany, she been right there for everything for the last almost
two years." he said looking at me, he winked. I smiled.
"and also my two grandmothers and mom, dad, and taylor thanks for being there for
me , and all of them early morning pactices, and everything."
After he was done on stage he walked over to us, i put my hand on his shoulder. He
put his hand on the small of my back.
"i love you" I said
"i love you too" he said "I gotts go get ready."
"okay, Good luck"
"thanks babe" he smiled
I giggled. he went to go get ready for the street hockey game with his buddys.
Me , his parents, and his sister, watched along the fince with a couple other of his
family member. He played goalie.
After the game, and later the night. we were at the dock on a boat, poeple were
talking pictures with the cup and sid. I was talking to his mom.
"Britt" sid said
"yeah"
"let take a picture."
"kay"
"mom can you?" he asked
"Sure" we walked up to the cup he whisper in my ear.
"I didn't forget about you?"
"i know you didn't, your having fun."

Chapter 73
The next couple days the next sereis started and ended,Pens beat the hurricanes four games to none, adn they are going to the stanly cup finals again.
After the last game. I met down in locker, run up to Sid, give him a hug.
"I told you guys would get another shot."
"We are baby, we are." he said, I kissed him.
Later that night, we went out.
The next sereis, they ended up playing detroit again. the first two game were away
and ended going down two games just like last year. then the next two games they
won. then game 5. i was away, and they ended loseing pretty bad. that night, when
Sidney came home. i was almost asleep. i felt Sidney climb in bed. i rolled over,
and put my hand around him.
"you guys are going to be okay."
he trighted his gripped around me.
Game 6 we won I went up to Sid.
"one step closer then last year." I said
"yes, it is" he said
The next morning, Sid and I were packing. i was done before him.
"so when are you leaving?" he asked
"tonight"
"Okay, and I got to get going." he said
"Okay, when is your parents going to be there."
"i think, tonight too."
he grabbed his keys.
"I'm gonna get going" he got his bag.
"bye" I kissed him. "i love you"
"I love you too." I grabbed him before he walked out of the apartment, he looked at

Later that night, I was in Detroit. I got to my hotel. I text Sidney and told him. i
was here.
The next day, I got up ate breakfast, I met up with Vero, and some other girlfriends
and went around the city then had lunch, around three. i text Sidney.

I got back to the hotel, got dress into, jeans and a Crosby oversize T-shirt. i made
my way to the arena. I got up in a box with his parents.
The game started they was no goals of anything that really happend in the first
period. The beginning of the second Max scored. The more into the period Max scores,
and Max scaroed again. later into the second period Sid was down the ice, then he got smanned into the borads. then when the guy skated away Sid was bendt over,
trying to get over to the bench i stood up off my seat.
"I hope he's okay" I said
"me too" his mom said
they went into the intermistion and Sid never came back on the ice. When they came
out for the thrid period, Sid skated out. Me, taylor, and his parents started
clapping. He went out there for few seconds. It must be killing him. In the third,
Detroit scored one, we were still up 2-1. As second wented down, i got out my seat
more, and more, When went all zero's. i jumped up an hug taylor, and trina, and ever
troy.
We got down to the bench. we watched him left the cup. he scamed, I laughed an had a
smile on my face the whole time. He handed the cup off to Bill Gurein. after they
took the picture with the cup. He skated over to us. he gave his dad this big hug,
and his dad whisper in his ear. he came over to us. i was standing next to me. he was talking.
"Sidney" someone yelled for him to come over there.
"hold on" he said, he turned to me, adn picked me up, and spun me around.
"Sidney" I laughed "your knee."
"i'll be fine" he put me down me down, I looked up at him.
"what?" he asked
I smiled and hugged him. "i'm so proud of you." I said into his ear, he squeezed me

Later that night, i watched him drink out of the cup.Sid had interview left and

"i'll be fine" he put me down me down, I looked up at him.
"what?" he asked
I smiled and hugged him. "i'm so proud of you." I said into his ear, he squeezed me
tighter.
"i'll be back." he said
Later that night, i watched him drink out of the cup.Sid had interview left and
right. He came up to me.
"you want something to drink?" He asked in my ear.
"no" I said "how your knee?"
"what?" he asked over the people yelling.
i grabbed him and pulled him down "hows your knee?"
"oh, I can barely feel it."
"i bet"
"huh?"
"I bet"
"oh." he said, looked at me. he started laughing. I laughed.
Later we all got back in pittsburgh, we were ar mario. Sid came up to me.
"hey, babe"
"hey, your buzzed." I said
"yupp" I laughed
Later I was looking for Sidney. I found him in hid old room sleeping. i smiled.
"leave hinn here." a voice said
I turned around it was Mario.
"are you sure?"
"yeah" I looked at sid.
"i'm so proud of him."
"a lot of people are"
"yeah." i said "I gonna get going."
"okay" he said, I walked over to sidney, pushed the loses hair on his forehead, and
kissed it.
